On June 27, the seventh Yue Health Lecture Series, hosted by the Shaoxing Health Management Association, co-hosted by the Shaoxing Medical Association, and organized by NHU, was held in Xinchang. Professor Ding Gangqiang, former Director of the National Institute of Nutrition and Health at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Chinese Nutrition Society, and Vice Chairman of the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology, delivered a keynote lecture on Precision Nutrition. More than 180 experts and members from the Shaoxing Health Management Association, the Shaoxing Medical Association, and Xinchang’s health and wellness system attended the event. The lecture was chaired by Sun Yunyao, President of the Shaoxing Health Management Association.

Mr. Hu Baishan, Vice Chairman and President of NHU, noted that nutrition and health are fundamental to human well-being and development. Guided by the mission of “Exploring Chemistry, Improving Life,” NHU has long been committed to the research, development, and production of essential nutrients and formulations, including vitamins, amino acids, coenzyme Q10, and carotenoids, while continuously expanding their applications to better serve global health and support the Healthy China initiative through industrial innovation. Hu also emphasized that the Yue Health Lecture Series has become a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration. Looking ahead, NHU will continue to strengthen cooperation with industry associations, healthcare professionals, and research institutions in areas such as public health education, nutrition research, and industry collaboration, contributing to the development of a Healthier Shaoxing and a Healthier China.

Professor Ding Gangqiang delivered a keynote lecture titled Current Nutritional Status of Chinese Residents and Dietary Intervention Strategies, reviewing the current dietary status of Chinese residents, and highlighting that unbalanced diets remain a major risk factor for the high incidence of chronic diseases among Chinese residents. He also pointed to the coexistence of micronutrient deficiencies among children and inadequate protein intake among the elderly. To address these challenges, Professor Ding recommended increasing the consumption of whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and dairy products while optimizing the overall balance of daily energy intake. Drawing on the Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents, he called for greater public awareness of evidence-based dietary practices and the correction of misconceptions about nutrition, so that precision nutrition can better support lifelong health.

Following the lecture, members of the Standing Council of the Shaoxing Health Management Association visited NHU for discussions and exchanges on topics related to human nutrition and health.

Nutrition is the cornerstone of a Healthy China. Looking ahead, NHU will remain committed to advancing nutrition and health by leveraging its biotechnology, chemical synthesis, and microencapsulation technology platforms. Working closely with partners across the value chain, NHU will continue to deliver high-quality nutritional products and innovative solutions, contributing to the building of a global community of health for all.
